  1. 1. The economics of residual waste : policies, price discrimination, and welfare

    Författare :Sef Meens-Eriksson; David Granlund; Runar Brännlund; Thomas Broberg; Raymond Gradus; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Waste economics; net social cost analysis; waste incineration; municipal waste policy; waste taxes; price discrimination; spatial competition; welfare effects; Economics; nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : Paper [I]: In this study, a net social cost framework is applied to provide insights on policy issues relating to the cross-border trade in waste fuel. We estimate the net social cost of using imported waste fuel in a highly efficient combined heat and power plant (CHP) in a cold climate by considering both private costs and benefits as well as external costs related to energy production, alternative waste management and fuel transport. 2. 2. Conditions and Constraints for Waste Management. Collection, Characterisation and Producer Responsibility in Sweden

    Författare :Cecilia Mattsson Petersen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; waste component analysis; household waste; waste characterisation; source separation; collection; producer responsibility; landfill ban; waste management;

    Sammanfattning : Waste management has changed from being mainly a question of transporting out of sight to being an issue entwined in all parts of society, from product planning to the private domestic sphere. This has imposed new conditions and constraints for waste management, the description of which is the objective of this thesis. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Waste incineration residues : Persistent organic pollutants in flue gas and fly ash from waste incineration

    Sammanfattning : Modern societies produce large quantities of municipal solid waste (MSW), which is commonly disposed of by incineration. This has several advantages: it reduces the waste’s volume and sterilizes it while also enabling energy recovery. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation explores the early digitalization in Sweden. As host to the first summit on the environment in Stockholm 1972 (UNCHE), as leading procurer of computer equipment as well as initiator to the world's first national Data Act of 1973, Sweden pioneered domains that have since emerged as critical to our age: environmental challenges and digital technology. 5. 5. Household waste collection : factors and variations

    Författare :Lisa Dahlén; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Waste Science and Technology; Avfallsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Ambitious household waste recycling programs have been introduced in Sweden and several other countries during recent decades. Many different waste- sorting and collection schemes have been developed, but the evaluation and comparison of the results is made difficult by the lack of comparable data. LÄS MER
