1. Dynamics of Coinfection : Complexity and Implications
Sammanfattning : Living beings are always on risk from multiple infectious agents in individual or in groups. Though multiple pathogens' interactions have widely been studied in epidemiology. Despite being well known, the co-existence of these pathogens and their coinfection remained a mystery to be uncovered. LÄS MER
2. Laminar burning velocity of hydrogen and flame structure of related fuels for detailed kinetic model validation
Sammanfattning : The laminar burning velocity and the flame structure are common targets for combustion studies aimed at detailed kinetic model development. In the present work, fuels relevant to hydrogen combustion were considered. LÄS MER
3. Microvascular inflammatory response in the skin
Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the microvascular inflammatory response in the skin. The microvascular response includes vasodilatation and plasma exudation. In the first three studies, the combined response was measured in guinea pig skin with a technique based on detection of radiolabelled protein. LÄS MER
4. Effects of the Spin-Orbit Interaction on Transport and Optical Properties of III-V Semiconductor Quantum Wells
Sammanfattning : Effects of the intrinsic electron spin-orbit interaction on transport and optical properties of III-V semiconductor quantum wells have been studied theoretically. It is shown that due to crystal anisotropy of this interaction, the weak localization magnetoresistance in a magnetic field parallel to interfaces is very sensitive to the epitaxy growth direction and also to the orientation of the magnetic field with respect to the crystal axes. 5. Cytogenetic abnormalities in Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Sweden. A population based study
Sammanfattning : The impact of cytogenetic findings in AML was analyzed in the large population-based Swedish AML registry. Karyotypic patterns differed by age: t(8;21), inv(16) and t(11q23) were more common in younger patients, whereas loss of 5q, 7q and 17p, monosomal karyotype (MK) and complex karyotype (CK) were more common in older patients.
