1. Modelling Chemical Weathering in Different Scales
Sammanfattning : Chemical weathering is one of the most important processes supporting life on Earth. Chemical weathering continuously contributes macronutrients and micronutrients to the soil solution. These recycling, essential elements are used as building blocks for all organic living matter. 2. Weathering and water quality in an area with mineralized till, Liikavaara, northern Sweden
3. Modelling effects of climate change and forestry on weathering rates and base cation cycling in forest soils
Sammanfattning : Base cations are important in forest soils as nutrients for vegetation and protection against soil acidification. Today, base cations have been lost from soils through acidification and forest harvesting. With low levels in soils, temporary situations of deficiency could occur. LÄS MER
4. Integrating fluvial processes into the global Si cycle
Sammanfattning : Silicon (Si) is ubiqutious in natural waters as dissolved silica (DSi) and is used as a nutrient by many plant and animal species. DSi ultimately derives from the weathering of silicate minerals, a process which also consumes atmospheric CO2 and couples the silicon and carbon cycles. LÄS MER
5. Soil and stream water chemistry in a boreal catchment - interactions, influences of dissolved organic matter and effects of wood ash application
Sammanfattning : Two small bordering catchments in Bispgården, Central Sweden, wereinvestigated in regard to soil solution and stream water chemistry during the frostfree seasons of 2003-2007. Both catchments were drained by first order streams,Fanbergsbäcken and Gråbergsbäcken, and in Fanbergsbäckens catchment anextensive investigation of the soil and soil solution chemistry was conducted bylysimeter and centrifugation sampling.
