6. Communication-Efficient Resource Allocation for Wireless Federated Learning Systems
Sammanfattning : The training of machine learning (ML) models usually requires a massive amount of data. Nowadays, the ever-increasing number of connected user devices has benefited the development of ML algorithms by providing large sets of data that can be utilized for model training. LÄS MER
7. Performance problem diagnosis in cloud infrastructures
Sammanfattning : Cloud datacenters comprise hundreds or thousands of disparate application services, each having stringent performance and availability requirements, sharing a finite set of heterogeneous hardware and software resources. The implication of such complex environment is that the occurrence of performance problems, such as slow application response and unplanned downtimes, has become a norm rather than exception resulting in decreased revenue, damaged reputation, and huge human-effort in diagnosis. 8. Age of Information Aware Communication Systems : Modeling and Performance Analysis
Sammanfattning : Advances in wireless communications and networking technology have taken us towards a pervasively connected world in which a vast array of wireless devices, from mobile phones to environmental sensors, seamlessly communicate with each other. In many of these systems the freshness of the transmitted information is of high importance. LÄS MER
9. Performance Analysis of Opportunistic Content Distribution via Data-Driven Mobility Modeling
Sammanfattning : An opportunistic network is formed by co-located mobile users in order to exchange data via direct wireless links when their devices are within transmission range, without relying on the use of fixed network infrastructure. In this thesis we investigate the capabilities of opportunistic networks and cover two main areas: data-driven modeling of user mobility and analytic performance evaluation of location-aware opportunistic content distribution. 10. Cooperative and Cognitive Communication in Wireless Networks
Sammanfattning : In the last decade, significant efforts and progress have been made by both the industry and academia to meet the rapidly growing demand for wireless applications and services. To achieve more flexible, dynamic and intelligent use of the limited wireless spectrum, cooperative transmission and cognitive networking are proposed as two of the key technologies for the next generation wireless communication systems, such as Long-Term Evolution Advanced.
