1. Enhancing UV-protection of clear coated wood by utilizing reactive UV-absorber and epoxyfunctionalized soybean oil
Sammanfattning : This work presents the development of a new pretreatment for clear coated wood, that aims to increase the photoprotection of exterior wood products, and at the same time make the system more environmentally friendly. The pretreatment comprises the reactive UV absorber 2-hydroxy-4(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-benzophenone (HEPBP), which has a primary epoxy group that can be covalently attached to the hydroxyl groups of the wood substrate. 2. Double Poling Incross-Country Skiing : Biomechanical and Physiological Analysis of Sitting and Standing Positions
Sammanfattning : Double poling (DP) is a sub-technique in cross-country skiing that has increased in interest over the last decades, e.g. athletes in cross-country skiing have increased their utilisation of double poling during competitions. LÄS MER
3. Innovation and Design Processes in Small Established Companies
Sammanfattning : This thesis examines innovation and design processes in small established companies. There is a great interest in this area yet paradoxically the area is under-researched, since most innovation research is done on large companies. LÄS MER
4. Combined Digital Holography and Speckle Correlation for Rapid Shape Evaluation
Sammanfattning : In manufacturing industry there is a high demand for on line quality control to minimize the risk of incorrectly produced objects. Conventional contact measurement methods are usually slow and invasive, meaning that they cannot be used for soft materials and for complex shapes without influencing thecontrolled parts. LÄS MER
5. Assessment of predicting blood flow and atherosclerosis in the aorta and renal arteries
Sammanfattning : Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the most common cause of death in large parts of the world. Atherosclerosis (AS) has a major part in most CVDs. AS is a slowly developingdisease which is dependent on multiple factors such as genetics and life style (food, smoking, and physical activities). LÄS MER
