16. Topics in Complex Analysis and Operator Theory I. The shift operator on spaces of vector-valued analytic functions II. Fatou-type theorems for general approximate identities III. Preduals of Q_p-spaces
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of six articles on three different subjects in the area of complex analysis, operator theory and harmonic analysis. Part I - "The Shift Operator on Spaces of Vector-valued Analytic Functions" consists of three closely connected articles that investigate certain operators in the Cowen-Douglas class with spectrum D - the unit disc, or equivalently, the shift operator M_z (multiplication by $z$) on Hilbert spaces of vector-valued analytic functions on D. 17. Strong Cosmic Censorship and Cosmic No-Hair in spacetimes with symmetries
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of three articles investigating the asymptotic behaviour of cosmological spacetimes with symmetries arising in Mathematical General Relativity. In Paper A and B, we consider spacetimes with Bianchi symmetry and where the matter model is that of a perfect fluid. 18. On determinantal point processes and random tilings with doubly periodic weights
Sammanfattning : This thesis is dedicated to asymptotic analysis of determinantal point processes originating from random matrix theory and random tiling models. Our main interest lies in random tilings of planar domains with doubly periodic weights. LÄS MER
19. Riemann-Hilbert methods in general relativity and random matrix theory
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on problems in general relativity and random matrix theory that can be solved by means of Riemann-Hilbert techniques. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to solving boundary value problems related to colliding plane waves in vacuum in general relativity. LÄS MER
20. Topics in projective algebraic optimization
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores optimization challenges within algebraic statistics, employing both topological and geometrical methodologies to derive new insights. The main focus is the optimization degree of nearest point and Gaussian maximum likelihood estimation problems with algebraic constraints. LÄS MER
