  1. 1. Strongly Coupled Performance Prediction for Sailing Yachts based on CFD

    Författare :Rickard Lindstrand Levin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wind Triangle; RANS; Sailing; Velocity Prediction Program; Rigid Body Motion; Wide and Light Yacht; Laser dinghy;

    Sammanfattning : Quantifying performance of sailing yachts can be done in many different ways. Historically the most common way is a static approach where a steady state solution is obtained by solving equilibrium equations in 3 or 4 degrees of freedom. More recently, dynamic methods have appeared. In this thesis a method of the latter kind in proposed. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Short term water heat storage : studies of velocity and temperature fields and their importance for sizing of the storage

    Författare :Jan Dahl; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Short term water heat storage's have been introduced in many district heating systems. The main reason for this is the possibilities opened by the storage for optimization of the generation of heat and electricity in combined heat and power plants. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Optimal Control of Electric Bus Lines

    Författare :Rémi Lacombe; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Eco-driving; Electric buses; Bus bunching; Nonlinear programming; Optimal control; Model predictive control;

    Sammanfattning : Bus lines are inherently unstable systems, where any delay tends to be further amplified by the accrued passenger loads encountered at stops downstream. This self-reinforcing mechanism, when combined with the multiple sources of disturbances of an urban environment, can lead to the problem of bus bunching. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Simulation of robot paths and heat effects in welding

    Författare :Mikael Ericsson; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Produktionsteknik; Welding; Automation; robotics; Off-line programming; Robotics; Automatiska system; Production technology; control engineering; Finite Element Analysis; reglerteknik; robotteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to develop a simulation tool and a method by which robot trajectories, temperature histories, residual stresses and distortion can be analysed and optimized off-line. This was performed by integrating robot simulation software with finite element analysis software. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Jet Impingement and Infrared Heating of Cylindrical Foods. Flow and Heat Transfer Studies

    Författare :Eva Olsson; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Termisk teknik; fluiddynamik; plasma; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Gaser; fluid dynamics; plasmas; Gases; RSM; CFD; inverse heat transfer; jet impingement heat transfer; infrared heating; termodynamik; Food and drink technology; Livsmedelsteknik; PIV; SST; food; cylinder;

    Sammanfattning : Rapid heat transfer methods such as jet impingement and infrared radiation can be used to speed up thermal processing in the food industry. The heating rate affects important food characteristics, such as colour. LÄS MER
