1. Tracked vehicles : the influence of design parameters on the tractive performance in deep snow
Sammanfattning : To increase the mobility of tracked vehicles in deep snow with the payload capacity preserved and the maintenance costs kept low, improved design is required. To optimise new tracked vehicles intended to operate in deep snow, more knowledge about the vehicle design parameters that affect the tractive performance in deep snow is needed, especially regarding the design of the track assembly and of the vehicle belly. 2. Modular Battery Systems for Electric Vehicles based on Multilevel Inverter Topologies - Opportunities and Challenges
Sammanfattning : Modular battery systems based on multilevel inverter (MLI) topologies can possibly overcome some shortcomings of two-level inverters when used for vehicle propulsion. The results presented in this thesis aim to point out the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the technical challenges, of modular vehicle battery systems based on MLIs in comparison to a conventional, two-level IGBT inverter drivetrain. 3. Electric vehicles in action
Sammanfattning : This thesis analyses the political and practical conditions for introducing electric vehicles in Swedish public authorites and discusses the potential for using electric vehicles in public transport and public fleets. The work has been carried out using an interdisciplinary research approach. LÄS MER
4. Localization for Autonomous Vehicles
Sammanfattning : There has been a huge interest in self-driving cars lately, which is understandable, given the improvements it is predicted to bring in terms of safety and comfort in transportation. One enabling technology for self-driving cars, is accurate and reliable localization. LÄS MER
5. The Four-Quadrant Transducer System : for Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Sammanfattning : In this thesis a hybrid electrical powertrain called the Four Quadrant Transducer (4QT) has been evaluated through different driving simulations, which later resulted in the manufacture of a prototype. The simulation of a 12 metric ton distribution truck showed that the 4QT system can reduce the fuel consumption by approximately 30 % during the FTP75 drive cycle. LÄS MER
