6. Towards efficient vehicle dynamics development : From subjective assessments to objective metrics, from physical to virtual testing
Sammanfattning : Vehicle dynamics development is strongly based on subjective assessments (SA) of vehicle prototypes, which is expensive and time consuming. Consequently, in the age of computer- aided engineering (CAE), there is a drive towards reducing this dependency on physical test- ing. LÄS MER
7. Distributed vehicle testing : dynamic simulation for automotive winter testing
Sammanfattning : Today, rather than provide parts similar to their competitors and rely on one or two automakers, successful automotive component suppliers focus heavily on innovation and collaboration with several manufacturers in a global market. In this thesis, an as-is scenario for automotive winter testing is presented. LÄS MER
8. Onboard condition monitoring of vehicle-track dynamic interaction using machine learning : Enabling the railway industry’s digital transformation
Sammanfattning : The railway sector’s reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) can significantly improve by adopting condition based maintenance (CBM). In the CBM regime, maintenance decisions are driven by condition monitoring (CM) of the asset. LÄS MER
9. Vehicle Services
Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to our understanding of the development and diffusion of vehicle services, and to how information technology interacts with forms of organization and business models to undermine or support the development of vehicle services. The overall research question asked in the thesis is: what are the technical, business and organizational prerequisites for the development and diffusion of a rich variety of vehicle services? The development and diffusion of vehicle services have been empirically investigated by ethnographic field studies, prototype software development and case studies as part of a collaborative practice research approach involving the Volvo Group. 10. Controlling over-actuated road vehicles during failure conditions
Sammanfattning : The aim of electrification of chassis and driveline systems in road vehicles is to reduce the global emissions and their impact on the environment. The electrification of such systems in vehicles is enabling a whole new set of functionalities improving safety, handling and comfort for the user. LÄS MER
