  1. 1. A model for simulation and generation of surrounding vehicles in driving simulators

    Författare :Johan Olstam; Jan Lundgren; Pontus Matstoms; Stéphane Espié; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Traffic; Simulation; Model; Traffic flow; Vehicle; Micro; Overtaking; Vehicle spacing; Deceleration; Acceleration; Mathematical model; Simulator; Road: Traffic theory; Road: Traffic theory; Technology; Traffic Simulation; Driving Simulator; Traffic Generation; Microscopic; Traffic models; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Driving simulators are used to conduct experiments on for example driver behavior, road design, and vehicle characteristics. The results of the experiments often depend on the traffic conditions. One example is the evaluation of cellular phones and how they affect driving behavior. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Measures to Enhance the Dynamic Performance of Railway Catenaries

    Författare :Zhendong Liu; Sebastian Stichel; João Pombo; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Farkostteknik; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The pantograph-catenary system is used in railways to transfer electric power from infrastructure to trainset. As the pantograph slides against the catenary, the contact between the two surfaces is not stable due to stiffness variation, propagating wave and other environmental perturbation, especially at high speeds or in multi-pantograph operation. 3. 3. Numerical study on multi-pantograph railway operation at high speed

    Författare :Zhendong Liu; Sebastian Stichel; Jens Nielsen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; numerical study; pantograph-catenary system; multi-pantograph operation; dynamic behaviour; high-speed operation; Järnvägsgruppen - Fordonsteknik; Järnvägsgruppen - Fordonsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Multi-pantograph operation allows several short electric multiple unit (EMU) trainsets to be coupled or decoupled to adapt to daily or seasonal passenger-flow variation. Although this is a convenient and efficient way to operate rolling stock and use railway infrastructure, pantographs significantly influence each other and even significantly change the dynamic behaviour of the system compared to single-pantograph operation in the same condition. 4. 4. Heavy-Duty Vehicle Platooning : Modeling and Analysis

    Författare :Qichen Deng; Gunnar Flötteröd; Wilco Burghout; Clas Rydergren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Coupled with the growth of world economy, the demand for freight transport has escalated and will continue to do so. As the traffic intensity increases, the pressure on infrastructure, energy usage and environment becomes higher than ever. Meanwhile, the number of traffic accidents is also increasing year by year as a result. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fuel-Efficient Heavy-Duty Vehicle Platooning

    Författare :Assad Alam; Karl H. Johansson; Roberto Horowitz; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Platooning; Heavy-Duty Vehicle; Optimal Control; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The freight transport industry faces big challenges as the demand for transport and fuel prices are steadily increasing, whereas the environmental impact needs to be significantly reduced. Heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) platooning is a promising technology for a sustainable transportation system. LÄS MER
