    Sammanfattning : The studies presented in Papers I to VI illustrate several different aspects of the impact of vascular plants on methane emissions from northern natural wetlands. The subject has been approached on different scales, ranging from the study of microbial substrates in the vicinity of a single plant root, to an attempt to extrapolate some of the results to the entire northern hemisphere north of 50°N.     Sammanfattning : To achieve successful vascular targeting in cancer, a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that lead to tumour vascular abnormalities is required.  The transmembrane protein CD93 is highly expressed in the vasculature of several tumours including glioblastoma and has emerged as a potential anti-angiogenic target.     Sammanfattning : Vascular interventions for the treatment of symptomatic atherosclerosis fail in up to 40 % of the cases during the first year. One important reason is the development of a narrowing process known as intimal hyperplasia (IH). The cells forming IH resemble smooth muscle cells (SMCs) from the media of the arterial wall. LÄS MER
