11. Nonlinear optics in KTiOPO4 for spectral management of ultra-short pulses in the near- and mid-IR
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the possibilities of controlling nonlinear optical interactions in ferroelectric materials for bandwidth tailoring of ultrashort pulses in the pico- and femto-second range. The control is achieved through quasi-phase matching, which is based on alternating the material’s spontaneous polarization into different domains. LÄS MER
12. Pulse Generation and Detection through Intra-Cavity Up-Conversion
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis concerns two main categories: pulse detection and pulse generation, however both utilise intra-cavity up-conversion. The work regarding pulse detection deals with up-conversion LIDAR and was split into two smaller projects, the first one focused on the resolution in measurements along one line with multiple reflections, and the second focused on measurements further into the MIR, as well as performing 3D imaging. 13. Continuously tunable narrow-linewidth fiber lasers
Sammanfattning : Narrow linewidth tunable fiber lasers have become an important tool in research and in-field applications thanks to their high beam quality, great spectral performance, compact structure and environmental robustness. Many methods have been introduced and developed throughout decades to fulfill the need for rapid wavelength adjustment of these fiber lasers. LÄS MER
14. Theoretical study of light-molecule nonlinear interactions
Sammanfattning : The work presented in the thesis concerned theoretical study of light-matter nonlinear interactions. Two important aspects of such interactions have been examined, namely the nonlinear optical properties of a series of organic charge transfer molecules in solutions induced by the laser light and the propagation of the ultrafast high power laser through the nonlinear molecular medium.
