2. Energy Efficiency through Thermal Energy Storage : Possibilities for the Swedish Building Stock
Sammanfattning : The need for heating and cooling in buildings constitutes a considerable part of the total energy use in a country and reducing this need is of outmost importance in order to reach national and international goals for reducing energy use and emissions. One important way of reaching these goals is to increase the proportion of renewable energy used for heating and cooling of buildings. LÄS MER
3. Advances in Ventilation Heat Recovery : An assessment of peak loads shaving using renewables
Sammanfattning : The building sector accounts for approximately 40% of total global energy usage. In residential buildings located in cold climate countries, 30-60% of this energy isused for space heating, 20–30% is lost by discarded residential wastewater, and therest is devoted to ventilation heat loss. 4. Efficient heat supply and use from an energy-system and climate perspective
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to illustrate whether the heat demand in district heating systems can be seen as a resource that enables efficient energy utilization, how this can be achieved and to discuss consequences of this assumption. Based on the answers to posed research questions and on the studies included in this thesis, it is concluded that the hypothesis “A common system approach for energy supply and heat demand will show climate and economic efficient solutions” is true. 5. Buildings and district heating - contributions to development and assessments of efficient technology
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to contribute to improved performance of district heating systems by focusing on three items. Item 1: Study of three methods for improving the performance of sub-systems within buildings connected to the distribution network. The methods can be considered as more or less innovative. LÄS MER
