Using a difference-in-differences design, I exploit two reforms of the Swedish UI system that made monitoring and sanctions considerably stricter at different points in time for different jobseeker groups. Sammanfattning : Estimating Long-Term Consequences of Teenage Childbearing: An Examination of the Siblings Approach In the study of the consequences of teenage motherhood, the siblings approach has been proposed as a strategy to control for unobserved family background. Revisiting this literature, my contribution in adopting the siblings approach lies in controlling for heterogeneity within the family by using pre-motherhood school performance, a characteristic that differs across sisters. Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of an introductory part and two self-contained chapters related to the supply of volunteers to the Swedish Armed Forces.Chapter [I] represents the first effort to explore the relationship between civilian labour market conditions and the supply of labour to the military in the all-volunteer environment that Sweden entered after the abolishment of the peacetime draft in 2010.
