  1. 1. Measuring occupational dust exposure with a passive sampler

    Författare :Mariam Shirdel; Ingvar Bergdahl; Britt Andersson; Håkan Wingfors; Christer Johansson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dust particles; mineral; PM10; PM2.5; respirable fraction; UNC passive aerosol sampler; working environment;

    Sammanfattning : Objectives: In a working environment it is important to measure dust exposure to evaluate possible health issues. Passive sampling could be an alternative to active sampling with pumps when measuring occupational dust exposure. One passive sampler is the University of North Carolina passive aerosol sampler (UNC sampler). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Pregnancy—A Critical Time for Mental Health : Interrogating Psychiatry with Microbiota-Gut-Brain Axis and Autonomic Nervous System Biomarkers

    Författare :Mary C. Kimmel; Alkistis Skalkidou; Janet Cunningham; Emma Fransson; Samantha Meltzer-Brody; Susan Garthus-Niegel; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :pregnancy; heart rate variability HRV ; microbiome; depression; anxiety; self-efficacy; cytokines; biomarkers;

    Sammanfattning : Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) are common and impact the parent and child beyond the perinatal period of pregnancy and postpartum. The aim of this thesis was to study biomarkers that might reflect perinatal mental health. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Epitaxial aluminum nitride thin films on 6H-silicon carbide, grown by magnetron sputter deposition

    Författare :Sukkaneste Tungasmita; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis is focused on epitaxial wurtzite-structure Aluminum Nitride (AlN) thin film synthesis, by ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) de magnetron sputter deposition, on Silicon Carbide (6H-SiC) substrates. The emphasis of the work has been put on controlling the growth and quality of the films to be able to use this material in electronic device applications. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The G protein-coupled receptor GPR30 signalosome - A novel G protein-independent mechanism regulating cAMP signaling and receptor trafficking

    Författare :Stefan Broselid; Drug Target Discovery; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; AKAP5; AKAP; MAGUK; cAMP signaling; constitutive signaling; signalosome; GPER; GPR30; GPCR; cytokeratin; RAMP3; apoptotic signaling; breast cancer; PDZ; PDZ-ligand;

    Sammanfattning : The large protein family called G Protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) has co-evolved with life throughout evolution; from single cell organisms all the way to complex beings such as us humans. The fact that GPCRs are involved in essentially every physiological event, and that ~50% of drugs on the current market are either directly or indirectly targeted towards the function of GPCRs, we can be certain of their considerable importance.
