16. Salivary gland neoplasms : studies on the cytoskeleton, the secretory apparatus and the nuclear DNA content
Sammanfattning : The heterogeneity of salivary gland neoplasms have made classification and prognostication of these tumours sometimes difficult, and the introduction of techniques, such as enzyme and carbohydrate histochemistry and electron microscopy have only to a certain extent increased our knowledge in these respects. In the present study immunohistochemical methods have been used to identify intermediate filament proteins (IFP) in normal fetal and adult parotid glands, as well as in salivary neoplasms. LÄS MER
17. Mapping ultrastructural effects of proteotoxic stress on S. cerevisiae
Sammanfattning : Cells are the basic building blocks of any living being, whether the organism consists of only one, or many cells. The different cellular components interact with one another to maintain the viability of the cell. An essential element of cells are proteins – peptide chains folded into a specific conformation unique to every protein. LÄS MER
18. A methodological platform to study molecular biocompatibility of biomaterials. Experimental and clinical studies
Sammanfattning : The aim of this project was to develop a methodological platform in order to advance our scientific understanding of the mechanisms of osseointegration. Screw-shaped, titanium implants, with different surface properties, were inserted in the rat tibia, or incubated in mono- or co-culture of human monocytes and MSCs. LÄS MER

20. Buellia species with pluriseptate spores and the Physciaceae (Lecanorales, Ascomycotina) : Taxonomic, phylogenetic and ultrastructural studies
Sammanfattning : This dissertation is primarily focused on the Buellia species with pluriseptate spores, often referred to the section or genus Diplotomma, and secondarily on the Physciaceae. An ultrastructural study at family level gives new information on spore characters. LÄS MER
