1. Wheat Flour Dough-Rheological and Structural Aspects
Sammanfattning : The thesis presents a rheological study on wheat flour dough, in relation to the structural influence of the different dough constituents, added components and mixing time. Rheological investigations have been focused on measurements at small deformations, including dynamic oscillation and stress relaxation, although complementing measurements have been performed in large deformation viscosity experiments. 2. Characterization of Amino Acid tRNA Ligases using the Analytical Ultracentrifuge
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT. Quaternary structures of amino acid tRNA ligases/synthetases (aaRS) in the native as well as in denatured forms were examined by molecular weight determinations (paper I-IV). Analytical ultracentrifugation, gel electrophoresis, gel chromatography were used in these investigations. LÄS MER
3. Utilization of Andean grain flours in the development of wheat flour dough
Sammanfattning : Bread dough was studied in relation to three Andean grain flours, quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa), amaranth (Amaranthus caudatus) and canahua (Chenopodium pallidicaule), as partial replacements for wheat flour with the perspectives of dough and breadmaking. This thesis deals with the understanding of both dough as a complex system, consisting of various water-filled polymers, and dough as a viscoelastic material, with different responses to deformations, in order to contribute to possibilities for improvements in dough analysis and development of novel products. 4. Diagnostic methods for demonstration of intrathecal synthesis of immunoglobulines within the central nervous system
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based upon studies of quantitative and qualitative determinations of immunoglobulins A, G, and M (lgA, IgG, and IgM) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and in serum. Inflammatory diseases, such as multiple sclerosis and infections (e.g. LÄS MER
5. Isolation Strategies and Proteomic Characterization of Extracellular Vesicles
Sammanfattning : “Extracellular vesicles” is the collective term used to describe vesicular entities that are released from cells into the extracellular environment. These vesicles are composed of a delineating lipid membrane and its cargo which can comprise of bioactive molecules such as lipids, RNA, DNA and proteins which can be shuttled between cells and thus function as a means of cell-to-cell communication.
