  1. 1. Sampling and analysis of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons with special reference to automobile exhausts

    Författare :Ulf Stenberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : A literature survey concerning the progress in sampling of polynu clear aromatic hydrocarbons, PAH, from automobile exhausts is pre seated. In this conjunction the included analytical methods are discussed, and some emphasis is put on injection technique and column performance. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Concept design and In Vitro evaluation of a novel dynamic displacement Ventricular Assist Device

    Författare :Mattias Stenberg; Håkan Elmqvist; Ulf Kjellman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ventricular Assist Devices; artificial heart; heart failure; InVitro evaluation; Medical engineering; Medicinsk teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs) are mechanical pumps used to off-load a deceased heart, primarily in late stage congestive heart failure patients. VAD employment may facilitate cardiac recovery, but most often provides time before a suitable heart transplant can be found. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Software Tools for Design of Reagents for Multiplex Genetic Analyses

    Författare :Johan Stenberg; Mats Nilsson; Ulf Landegren; Anthony Brookes; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik;

    Sammanfattning : Methods using oligonucleotide probes are powerful tools for the analysis of nucleic acids. During recent years, many such methods have been developed that enable the simultaneous interrogation of multiple qualities of a sample. Many of these multiplexing techniques share common limitations. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Rapid Facial Reactions to Emotionally Relevant Stimuli

    Författare :Monika Thunberg; Ulf Dimberg; Mats Fredrikson; Georg Stenberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Emotion; facial EMG; facial reactions; facial expressions; rapid responses; automatic responses; phobia; social fear; speech anxiety; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis investigated the relationship between rapid facial muscle reactions and emotionally relevant stimuli. In Study I, it was demonstrated that angry faces elicit increased Corrugator supercilii activity, whereas happy faces elicit increased Zygomaticus major activity, as early as within the first second after stimulus onset.
