  1. 1. Genetic structure of natural populations : aspects of the association between genetical and morphological variability patterns

    Författare :Ulf Lagercrantz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; populationsgenetik; Population Genetics;

    Sammanfattning : Most species comprise a number of more or less reproductively isolated subpopulations. These subpopulations may exhibit striking differences in morphology and ecology, and on the basis of those differences they are often given the rank of subspecies, race, stock, variety, etc. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Delaktighet- och lärprocesser i en yrkesutbildning : En studie av vuxna elevers erfarenheter av vård- och omsorgsutbildningen inom Komvux

    Författare :Katarina Lagercrantz All; Anders Gustavsson; Ulf Olsson; Madeleine Abrandt Dahlgren; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Vocational education for adults; health care; nursing assistant; health care assistant; adult education in health and social care; life long learning; inclusion and exclusion; Lave Wenger; Sociocultural theory; situated learning; community of practice; pedagogik; Education;

    Sammanfattning : Numerous research on the development of knowledge and skills within health and social care has been undertaken; however, it can be argued that there is a need to understand the connection between inclusion and the development in knowledge and experience.  The purpose of this dissertation is to explore students’ experiences of the health and social care adult- education program, and participation and learning processes it represents. 3. 3. Conservation Genetics and Speciation in Asian Forest Trees

    Författare :Sofia Bodare; Martin Lascoux; Ulf Lagercrantz; François Lefèvre; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär funktionsgenomik; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Functional Genomics;

    Sammanfattning : Tropical forests are important because they are the home of millions of species at the same time as they perform ecosystem services and provide food, cash income and raw materials for the people living there. The present thesis elucidates questions relevant to the conservation of selected forest trees as it adds to the knowledge in the phylogeny, population structure, genetic diversity and adaptation in these species. 4. 4. Conifer Evolution, from Demography and Local Adaptation to Evolutionary Rates : Examples from the Picea genus

    Författare :Jun Chen; Martin Lascoux; Ulf Lagercrantz; Matt Olson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Speciation; Demographics; clinal variation; convergent evolution; transcriptome; small regulatory RNA; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär funktionsgenomik; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Functional Genomics; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Genetics; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär genetik;

    Sammanfattning : Evolutionary process can be inferred at three different levels: the species level, the population level and the molecular level. In this thesis, I applied approaches at these three levels and aimed to get a comprehensive picture of conifer evolution, from speciation and demography to geographic variation and local adaptation, and then to the molecular evolution of proteins and small regulatory RNAs. 5. 5. Studies on Natural Variation and Evolution of Photoperiodism in Plants

    Författare :Karl Holm; Ulf Lagercrantz; Martin Lascoux; Seth Jon Davis; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :photoperiodism; circadian; flowering time; natural variation; evolution; Caspella bursa-pastoris; Physcomitrella patens; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär funktionsgenomik; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Functional Genomics;

    Sammanfattning : Photoperiodism refers to the organism’s ability to detect and respond to seasonal changes in the daily duration of light and dark and thus constitutes one of the most significant and complex examples of the interaction between the organism and its environment. This thesis attempts to describe the prevalence of variation in a photoperiodic response, its adaptive value, and its putative genetic basis in a common cruciferous weed, Capsella bursa-pastoris (Brassicaceae).
