  1. 1. Studies of the two redox active tyrosines in Photosystem II

    Författare :Nigar Ahmadova; Fikret Mamedov; Stenbjörn Styring; Robert Burnap; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Photosystem II; Tyrosine Z and D; proton-coupled electron transfer;

    Sammanfattning : Photosystem II is a unique enzyme which catalyzes light induced water oxidation. This process is driven by highly oxidizing ensemble of four Chl molecules, PD1, PD2, ChlD1 and ChlD2 called, P680. Excitation of one of the Chls in P680 leads to the primary charge separation, P680+Pheo-. LÄS MER

  2. 2. X-ray characterization of PaPheOH, a bacterial phenylalanine hydroxylase

    Författare :Fredrik Ekström; Uwe H. Sauer; Edward Hough; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; PaPheOH; PheOH; PAH; phhA; phenylalanine hydroxylase; protein crystallography; a-actinin; microcrystal; ABD; CH-domain; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Many human diseases are associated with the malfunction of enzymes in the aromatic amino acid hydroxylase family, e.g. phenylketonuria (PKU), hyperphenylalaninemia (HPA), schizophrenia and Parkinson's disease. LÄS MER

  3. 3. EPR Studies of Ruthenium-Manganese Complexes as Biomimetic Models for Photosystem II - Approaching Artificial Photosynthesis

    Författare :Ping Huang; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; WOC; bridging-mode modification; water oxidation; EPR; Ru-Mn complexes; PSII; Artificial Photosynthesis; D donor -S sensitizer -A acceptor molecular module; High Mn valence states.; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; metabolism;

    Sammanfattning : In natural photosynthesis, solar energy is converted to chemical energy by photosynthetic reaction centers. In green plants and algae, Photosystem II (PSII) and Photosystem I (PSI) absorb light and utilize the charge separation reactions to convert solar energy to chemical energy. LÄS MER
