16. Radioimmunotherapy in an Immunocompetent Tumor Model utilizing a 177Lu-mAb
Sammanfattning : Radioimmunotherapy (RIT) is a therapeutic strategy in which radionuclides are conjugated to monoclonal antibodies that bind to tumor-associated antigens in the tumor, so that the decay of the radionuclide takes place inside the tumor. The aim of the research presented in this thesis was to investigate the effects of RIT (utilizing the radioconjugated antibody 177Lu-BR96) on an inoculated tumor and the development of metastases. 17. Genome mapping of the horse
Sammanfattning : Our ability to map and sequence whole genomes is one of the most important developments in biological science. It will provide us with an unprecedented insight into the genetic background of phenotypic traits, such as disease resistance, reproduction and growth and also makes it feasible to study the processes of genome evolution. 18. Immunogenetic markers in immune mediated diseases
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study HLA class II markers, as well as other - MHC and non MHC genes in different immune - mediated diseases, namely, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), cervical cancer, juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) and type I diabetes mellitus (T1 DM). HLA class II genes are located on the short arm of chromosome 6 and are known to be important for pathogenesis of immune-mediated diseases due to the function of the molecules these genes encode. 19. Estrogen and its receptors in adipose tissue from women and men : Associations with age, adiposity and type 2 diabetes
Sammanfattning : Obesity and its complications, such as insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes (T2D), are leading causes of morbidity and mortality globally. Adipose tissue is important for whole-body homeostasis, functioning as an energy storage reservoir and an endocrine organ. LÄS MER
20. Prognostic markers in pediatric leukemia and mechanisms of KRAS induced leukemogenesis
Sammanfattning : Leukemia results from uncontrolled growth of genetically altered blood cells. Depending on the cell type of origin, the leukemia is defined as T-cell, B-cell, or myeloid and as acute or chronic depending on its characteristics. However, patients with a certain subtype of leukemia (e.g. LÄS MER
