1. The role of computer-aided design and surface chemistry on Cell-scaffold interactions
Sammanfattning : Cell interactions and cell response to three dimensional scaffolds based on poly(L-lactide-co-1,5-dioxepan-2-one) [poly(LLA-co-DXO)] and poly(L-lactide-co-e-caprolactone) [poly(LLA-co-CL)] wereimprovedstudiedby increasing surface hydrophilicity and by using computer-aided scaffold design. Different amounts of Tween 80 (3, 10, 20 wt%) were mixed with the copolymer and it was found that the water contact angle decreased significantly with the amount of Tween 80. LÄS MER
2. Engineering and Functionalization of Degradable Scaffolds for Medical Implant Applications
Sammanfattning : The treatment of bone defects is facing the situation of lacking donations for autotransplantation. As a valid approach, scaffold-based tissue engineering combines the construction of well-defined porous scaffolds with advanced cell culturing technology to guide tissue regeneration. LÄS MER
3. Investigation of the Freeze-Thawing Process for Pharmaceutical Formulations of a Model Protein
Sammanfattning : Recent advances in recombinant DNA technology have resulted in a great number of proteins with a potential to enter pharmaceutical formulations. The most commonly used method for preparing protein pharmaceuticals is by freeze-drying. LÄS MER
4. Impact of Cultivation Parameters on Cell Physiology of Limosilactobacillus reuteri
Sammanfattning : Optimisation of cultivation conditions in the industrial production of probiotics is crucial to reach a high-quality product with high probiotic functionality. The production process includes a fermentation step to produce biomass, accompanied by centrifugation to concentrate the cells. LÄS MER
5. Characterizing phenotypes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and exploring anti-mycobacterial compounds through high content screening
Sammanfattning : Tuberculosis (TB), an airborne disease and one of the top 10 causes of death globally, is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). Current standard therapy for TB treatment includes multiple drugs for a period of at least 6 months. LÄS MER
