  1. 11. Climate change effects on marine species across trophic levels

    Författare :Nan Hu; Enhet akvatisk ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; trophic levels; predation; gastropods; mussels; ocean acidification; ocean warming; interactive effects; interaction types; meta-analysis;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change and anthropogenic activities are producing a range of new selection pressures, both abiotic and biotic, on marine organisms. While there are numerous studies that have investigated the response of individual marine organisms to climate change, few studies have focused on differences in organismal responses across trophic levels. 2. 12. Transformation/dissolution characteristics of cobalt and welding fume nanoparticles in physiological and environmental media: surface interactions and trophic transfer

    Författare :Nanxuan Mei; Eva Blomberg; Inger Odnevall Wallinder; Jonas Hedberg; Iseult Lynch; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :nanoparticles; cobalt; stainless steel welding fume particles; biomolecules; metal release; trophic transfer; adsorption; agglomeration; algae; nanopartiklar; kobolt; rostfritt stål svetsrök partiklar; biomolekyler; metallfrigöring; trofisk överföring; adsorption; agglomerering; alger; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Nanoparticles (NPs) and nanomaterials (NMs) are present everywhere in the environment. They can form both as an act of nature and during human activities. Various kinds of NPs and NMs are engineered for different applications in the ongoing development of nanoscience and technology. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Managing green infrastructures : trophic interactions in anthropogenic and natural ecosystems

    Författare :Michael Manton; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The term green infrastructure addresses the spatial structure of anthropogenic, semi-natural and natural areas, as well as other environmental features which enable society to benefit from ecosystems’ multiple services. Focusing on two green infrastructures, anthropogenic wet meadows and natural forest successions, this thesis applies a macro-ecological approach based on comparisons of multiple landscapes as complex social-ecological systems. 4. 14. Consumption patterns and excretion in aquatic food websenrichment

    Författare :Anders Persson; Enhet akvatisk ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hydrobiology; trophic interactions; translocation; biomanipulation; enrichment; phosphorus; model; marine biology; aquatic ecology; limnology; Marinbiologi; limnologi; akvatisk ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis links biogeochemical cycling to classical ecology. Predictions derived from food chain theory, based on Lotka-Volterra type of interactions, were tested in aquatic environments with the main hypothesis that consumers affect lower levels of organization by both predation and excretion of limiting nutrients. 5. 15. Food Web Ecology -- individual life-histories and ecological processes shape complex communities

    Författare :Martin Hartvig; Evolutionär ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; food web; community ecology; community assembly; size-structure; life-history omnivory; ontogeny; trophic interactions; trait based model; topology; emergent organisation; size-spectrum;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis sets out a food web framework for size-structured populations. The framework enables an ecological approach to food web modelling as the individual life-history from birth, through maturation, and ultimately death is explicitly resolved with the use of bioenergetics based on individual body size.
