  1. 1. Issues in Urban Travel Demand Modelling : ICT Implications and Trip timing choice

    Författare :Maria Börjesson; Staffan Algers; Kay Axhausen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Journey; Mathematical model; Origin traffic ; Time; Telecommuting; Journey time; Variability; Stated preference; Delay; Civil engineering and architecture; Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur; 11 Road: Personal transport; 11 Road: Personal transport; Travel Demand; ICT; Tele-substitution; Revealed Preference; Stated Preference; Mixed Logit; Unobserved Heterogeneity; Travel Time Uncertainty; Schedule Delay;

    Sammanfattning : Travel demand forecasting is essential for many decisions, such as infrastructure investments and policy measures. Traditionally travel demand modelling has considered trip frequency, mode, destination and route choice. This thesis considers two other choice dimensions, hypothesised to have implications for travel demand forecasting. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Communication technology and travel demand models

    Författare :Maria Börjesson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Travel survey; Transport mode; Telecommuting; Mathematical model; Motivation; 11 Road: Personal transport; 11 Road: Personal transport;

    Sammanfattning : Transportation planners have traditionally focused on physical travel only, and disregarded the fact that other modes of communication may influence travel demand. However, modern telecommunications are rapidly increasing the accessibility to activities that previously only could be reached by physical transportation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Studies in Local Public Transport Demand

    Författare :Johan Holmgren; Jan Owen Jansson; Lars Westin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Public transport; Demand; Elasticity; Price; Service; Time series; Panel data; Kollektivtrafik; Efterfrågan; Elasticitet; Pris; Trafikutbud; Inkomst; Bilinnehav; Tidsserieanalys; Paneldata; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers where the overall purpose is to contribute to the understanding of how local public transport demand is affected by different factors. An underlying theme running trough the thesis is the two-way relationship between public transport demand and the service level caused by the fact that capacity and quality are joint products. 4. 4. Pro-environmental travel behavior : The importance of attitudinal factors, habits, and transport policy measures

    Författare :Louise Eriksson; Jörgen Garvill; Annika Nordlund; Linda Steg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; value-belief-norm theory; car habit; policy specific beliefs; car use reduction; acceptability; behavioral adaptations; travel demand management measures; transport policy measures; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study determinants of a readiness for pro-environmental travel behavior in households. Four empirical studies were conducted examining reduction in car use (Study I), acceptability of transport policy measures (Study II and III), and behavioral adaptations in response to travel demand management (TDM) measures (Study IV).
