  1. 11. Structural biology of transcriptional regulation in the c-Myc network

    Författare :Sara Helander; Maria Sunnerhagen; Patrik Lundström; Lila M. Gierasch; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The oncogene c-‐Myc is overexpressed in many types of human cancers and regulation of c-‐Myc expression is crucial in a normal cell. The intrinsically disordered N-‐terminal transactivation domain interacts with a wide range of proteins regulating c-‐Myc activity. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Modulation of nuclear receptor function by interacting proteins

    Författare :Waffa Osman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Nuclear receptors are a family of transcription factors involved in many biological processes. They represent key potentials as therapeutic targets for several clinical conditions such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and cancer, because their activity is modulated by small molecules. 3. 13. p73 : regulator of differentiation and apoptotic cell death

    Författare :Ulrika Nyman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Neoplasia is characterized by cells' loss of self-control due to deregulated apoptotic and cell proliferation pathways. Anticancer treatments aim to induce either cell cycle arrest or apoptosis, and these effects are in most part mediated by proteins, like p53 and p73, which are involved in and able to mediate both processes. 4. 14. Functional analysis of ligand recognition by the glucocorticoid receptor

    Författare :Ulrika Lind; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :glucocorticoid receptor; steroid-binding; site-directed mutagenesis; protein-ligand interaction; mechanism of glucocorticoid action;

    Sammanfattning : The glucocorticoid receptor (GR) is a ligand-inducible transcription factor that belongs to the superfamily of nuclear hormone receptors. It contains three structural and functional domains. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Studies on two transcription regulatory proteins : cellular c-Jun and adenovirus E1A

    Författare :Kerstin Sollerbrant; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :adenovirus; EIA; EIB; transcription; CtBP; c-Jun; Gal4;

    Sammanfattning : Adenoviruses cause lytic infections in a range of mammalian cells, but can in certain cases also transform the host cell. The first adenovirus gene to be expressed upon infection is E1A. The E1A gene encodes two major proteins of 243 and 289 amino acids, respectively, both of which serve as key regulators during virus infection. LÄS MER
