21. Machine Learning-Based Prediction Models and Threat Detection for Lane-Keeping Assistance
Sammanfattning : Traffic accidents have been an ongoing problem for over a century and many efforts have been made to improve traffic safety. Historically, the focus has been on passive safety with innovations, such as crumpling zones, three-point seat belts, and airbags, that aim to mitigate the impact of collisions. LÄS MER
22. Traffic Situation Management for Driving Automation of Articulated Heavy Road Transports - From driver behaviour towards highway autopilot
Sammanfattning : In this thesis traffic situation management for driving automation of long combination vehicles is discussed. The automation targets high-speed driving in multiple-lane, one-way roads. Traffic situation predictions, traffic situation manoeuvres and driving principles are studied specifically. LÄS MER
23. A dispatch procedure for traffic control of a fleet of remote-controlled automatic LHDS in underground hard rock mines : modelling approach is based on simulation
Sammanfattning : A concept for automating Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) vehicles has stimulated considerable interest in the Swedish mining industry. In this concept, tramming and dumping operations of an LHD should be automatic. During loading, an operator from a control room fills the bucket of a vehicle via remote-control aided by a television system. LÄS MER
24. Attraction Based Models of Collective Motion
Sammanfattning : Animal groups often exhibit highly coordinated collective motion in a variety of situations. For example, bird flocks, schools of fish, a flock of sheep being herded by a dog and highly efficient traffic on an ant trail. LÄS MER
25. Towards computational models for road-user interaction: Drivers overtaking pedestrians and cyclists
Sammanfattning : Introduction: Crashes resulting from a failed interaction between drivers and vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians or cyclists, can lead to severe injuries or fatalities, especially after failed overtaking maneuvers on rural roads where designated refuge areas are often absent, and impact speeds high. This thesis contains two studies that shed light on driver interaction with either 1) a pedestrian or 2) a cyclist, and oncoming traffic while overtaking. LÄS MER
