6. Modelling and Lagrangian control of mixed traffic: platoon coordination, congestion dissipation and state reconstruction
Sammanfattning : Traffic congestion is a constantly growing problem, with a wide array of negative effects on the society, from wasted time and productivity to elevated air pollution and reduction of safety. The introduction of connected, autonomous vehicles enables a new, Lagrangian paradigm for sensing andcontrolling the traffic, by directly using connected vehicles inside the traffic flow, as opposed to the classical, Eulerian paradigm, which relies on stationary equipment on the road. 7. Developments in the theory of the Prigogine-Herman kinetic equation of vehicular traffic
Sammanfattning : The nonlinear kinetic equation of Prigogine and Herman is examined in regards to existence and uniqueness of solutions. The solution exists and is unique in the Banach space of bounded continuous functions over a particular subspace Ω. LÄS MER
8. Railway traffic disturbance management
Sammanfattning : With the increasing traffic volumes in many railway networks and reports on capacity deficiencies that result in insufficient punctuality and reliability, the need for efficient disturbance management solutions becomes evident. This thesis focuses on solutions that aim to minimise the consequences of disturbances for the various stakeholders and specifically on methods for re-scheduling the traffic. LÄS MER
9. Utvärdering av cykelfälts effekter på cyklisters säkerhet och cykelns konkurrenskraft mot bil
Sammanfattning : This work presents an evaluation of bicycle lane effects on cyclist safety and the ability of bicycles to compete with car traffic. Thirteen Swedish urban streets were studied before and after bicycle lanes were introduced. LÄS MER
10. Characterization and Classification of Internet Backbone Traffic
Sammanfattning : We contribute to an improved understanding of Internet traffic characteristics by measuring and analyzing modern Internet backbone data. We start the thesis with an overview of several important considerations for passive Internet traffic collection on large-scale network links. LÄS MER
