  1. 1. A model for simulation and generation of surrounding vehicles in driving simulators

    Författare :Johan Olstam; Jan Lundgren; Pontus Matstoms; Stéphane Espié; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Traffic; Simulation; Model; Traffic flow; Vehicle; Micro; Overtaking; Vehicle spacing; Deceleration; Acceleration; Mathematical model; Simulator; Road: Traffic theory; Road: Traffic theory; Technology; Traffic Simulation; Driving Simulator; Traffic Generation; Microscopic; Traffic models; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Driving simulators are used to conduct experiments on for example driver behavior, road design, and vehicle characteristics. The results of the experiments often depend on the traffic conditions. One example is the evaluation of cellular phones and how they affect driving behavior. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Advancing Traffic Safety : An evaluation of speed limits, vehicle-bicycle interactions, and I2V systems

    Författare :Ary Pezo Silvano; Haris Koutsopoulos; Haneen Farah; Karl-Lennart Bång; Alfonso Montella; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Traffic safety; urban roads; posted speed limits; road characteristics; free-flow speed; time headway; vehicle-bicycle interactions; logit model; yielding probability; cooperative systems and warning messages.; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Since the introduction of motor vehicles, the number of fatalities and accidents has been a concern for society.The number of fatalities on roads is amongst the most common causes of mortality worldwide (WHO, 2015).Even in industrialized countries the number of fatalities remains unacceptable. Sammanfattning : During the last decades the road traffic has increased tremendously leading to congestion, safety issues and increased environmental impacts. As a result, many countries are continuously trying to find improvements and new solutions to solve these issues. LÄS MER

  4. 4. A method for analysing the traffic process in a safety perspective

    Författare :Åse Svensson; Trafik och väg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; intermediate method; Accidents; pedestrian safety; safety hierarchy; severity; traffic conflicts; interaction; road user behaviour; traffic safety; traffic process; time to accidents; safety indicators; surrogate measures;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to extend the traffic safety assessment concept to also include normal road user behaviour, thus not only exceptional behaviours such as accidents and serious conflicts. The goal is to provide a framework for a more thorough description and analysis of safety related road user behaviour in order to better understand the traffic safety processes. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Modelling and Lagrangian control of mixed traffic: platoon coordination, congestion dissipation and state reconstruction

    Författare :Mladen Čičić; Karl Henrik Johansson; Miroslav Krstić; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; traffic control; Lagrangian control; mixed traffic models; Intelligent Transportation Systems; Connected and Automated Vehicles; traffic congestion; platoon coordination; moving bottlenecks; bottleneck decongestion; stop-and-go wave dissipation; traffic state reconstruction; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Traffic congestion is a constantly growing problem, with a wide array of negative effects on the society, from wasted time and productivity to elevated air pollution and reduction of safety. The introduction of connected, autonomous vehicles enables a new, Lagrangian paradigm for sensing andcontrolling the traffic, by directly using connected vehicles inside the traffic flow, as opposed to the classical, Eulerian paradigm, which relies on stationary equipment on the road.
