  1. 1. Pair production, vacuum birefringence and radiation reaction in strong field QED

    Författare :Greger Torgrimsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; worldline instantons; lightfront quantisation; radiation reaction; vacuum birefringence; nonperturbative pair production;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we consider three QED phenomena in strong electromagnetic fields: Schwinger pair production, vacuum birefringence and radiation reaction. We study electron-positron pair production in a variety of field configurations and, using complex worldline instantons, reveal new insights into the case of fields with lightlike inhomogeneities. 2. 2. Quantum and classical radiation reaction from lightfront QED

    Författare :Greger Torgrimsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis I will study the motion of a radiating electron in a background field. Due to the existence of unphysical solutions to the equation of motion derived in classical electrodynamics, several alternative classical equations have been proposed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Factorized Geometrical Autofocus for Synthetic Aperture Radar Processing

    Författare :Jan Torgrimsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Back-Projection; PGA; SAR; UWB; Autofocus; FGA;

    Sammanfattning : Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery is a very useful resource for the civilian remote sensingcommunity and for the military. This however presumes that images are focused. There are severalpossible sources for defocusing effects. For airborne SAR, motion measurement errors is the maincause. LÄS MER
