  1. 1. Wetting and levelling of toner during fusing of electrophotographic prints

    Författare :Torbjörn Pettersson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis comprises two studies dealing withthe fusing step in electrophotographic printing. The firststudy addresses the development of a method for monitoringwetting/spreading of single toner particles in-situ on a heatedsubstrate. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Lubrication and Surface Properties of Adsorbed Layers of Polyelectrolytes and Proteins

    Författare :Torbjörn Pettersson; Per M. Claesson; Hans-Jürgen Butt; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biochemistry; biomedical engineering; Surface and colloid chemistry; Yt- och kolloidkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Friction forces between protein / polyelectrolyte layers, adsorption properties of proteins, and conformational changes due to variation in electrolyte concentration have been investigated. The aim was to obtain better understanding of adsorbed layer properties, with focus on the relation between layer structure and lubrication capabilities. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Phosphorus Emissions from Fish Farms : Observed and Predicted Effects

    Författare :Torbjörn Johansson; Kurt Pettersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Earth sciences; Fish farm; phosphorus; eutrophication; model; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Sedimentology; sedimentologi;

    Sammanfattning : During the last decades, fish farming has been a rapidly increasing industry in many European and North American countries. Sweden has a large potential for aquaculture, but there is also a strong concern about the effects on the environment that an increased aquaculture production may cause. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Biomarkers of vascular function and structure in young healthy adults

    Författare :Paul Pettersson-Pablo; Anita Hurtig-Wennlöf; Torbjörn Nilsson; Lars Breimer; Anders Larsson; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; atherosclerosis; vascular function; vascular structure; body composition; age; inflammation; clinical chemistry; biomarker;

    Sammanfattning : Atherosclerosis is a disease affecting the blood vessels in the body. Its pathophysiologic mechanisms involve infiltration of the vessel walls by fatty matter and immune cells. This process is slow, starting in childhood but typically not manifesting as symptomatic disease until late adulthood (after 60 years of age). LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Due to climate change and plastic pollution, there is an increasing demand for bio-based materials with similar properties to those of common plastics yet biodegradable. In this respect, cellulose is a strong candidate that is already being refined on a large industrial scale, but the properties differ significantly from those of common plastics in terms of shapeability and water-resilience.
