  1. 1. Policy, Interest and Power : Studies in Strategies of Research Utilization

    Författare :Kjell Nilsson; Socialhögskolan; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Expertise; Knowledge; Policy Sector; Research Utilization; Scientification; Utilization Function; Utilization Context; Utilization Strategy; sociology; social work;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation about the utilization of applied social science is based on studies of research use in three different policy sectors - the social service, the building, and the working life sectors. In these studies some characteristics of the different policy sectors, like the distribution and exercise of power and control, was found to play a fundamental role in forming the patterns of research utilization of the organizations in the field and the ways organizations act in relation to their environments. Sammanfattning : The search for increased productivity and cost reduction in machining can be interpreted as the desire to increase the material removal rate, MRR, and maximize the cutting tool utilization. The CNC process is complex and involves numerous limitations and parameters, ranging from tolerances to machinability. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Macro-, Micro- and Nanospheres from Cellulose : Their Preparation, Characterization and Utilization

    Författare :Christopher Carrick; Lars Wågberg; Derek Gray; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cellulose; sphere; capsule; functionalization; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : The structure of a polymeric material has a great influence in many fundamental scientific areas as well as in more applied science, since it affects the diffusion, permeability, mechanical strength, elasticity, and colloidal properties of the materials. The results in this thesis demonstrate that it is possible to fabricate solid and hollow cellulose spheres with a cellulose shell and encapsulated gas, liquid or solid particles and with a sphere size ranging from a few hundreds of nanometres to several millimetres, all with a tailored design and purpose. 5. 5. Visual replenishment methods in the manufacturing industry and suggestion for a decision tool

    Författare :Stefan Eriksson; Lars Bengtsson; Mauro Onori; Peter Gröndahl; Stig-Arne Mattsson; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; materials supply; replenishment methods; visual; selecting methods; decision tool;

    Sammanfattning : In almost all supply chains, materials need to be stored or buffered, implying that manufacturing companies need effective replenishment methods. However, this is challenging, since companies must balance inventory costs and customer service in complex and different situations. Therefore, it is important to choose replenishment methods carefully. LÄS MER
