  1. 11. Joint Interface Effects on Machining System Vibration

    Författare :Qilin Fu; Cornel-Mihai Nicolescu; Tomas Beno; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Joint Interface; Vibration; Damping; Chatter; Machining; Carbon NanoComposite; PECVD; HiPIMS; SRA - Production; SRA - Produktion; Järnvägsgruppen - Ljud och vibrationer; Järnvägsgruppen - Ljud och vibrationer;

    Sammanfattning : Vibration problems are still the major constraint in modern machining processes that seek higher material removal rate, shorter process time, longer tool life and better product quality. Depending on the process, the weaker structure element can be the tool/tool holder, workpiece/fixture or both. LÄS MER

  2. 12. High volumetric machining strategies for superalloy gasturbine components : Comparing conventional and nonconventional machining methods for efficient manufacturing

    Författare :Jonas Holmberg; Johan Berglund; Anders Wretland; Tomas Beno; Joel Andersson; Sten Johansson; RISE; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Alloy 718; High volumetric machining; Conventional and Nonconventional machining; Material removal rate; Post processing; surface integrity; Residual stress; Microstructure; Deformation; Manufacturing; Surface and Joining Technology; Bearbetnings-; yt- och fogningsteknik; Production Technology;

    Sammanfattning : There is a strong industrial driving force to find alternative manufacturing technologies in order to make the production of aero engine components of superalloys even more efficient than it is today. Introducing new and nonconventional machining technologies, as well as enhanced utilisation of today's high volumetric manufacturing, allows taking a leap to increase the material removal rate and the productivity. Sammanfattning : There is a strong industrial driving force to find alternative production technologies in order to make the production of aero engine components of superalloys even more efficient than it is today. Introducing new and nonconventional machining technologies allows taking a giant leap to increase the material removal rate and thereby drastically increase the productivity. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Dynamics of Torsional and Axial Vibrations in Indexable Drills

    Författare :Amir Parsian; Tomas Beno; Mahdi Eynian; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Drilling Dynamics; Chatter Vibrations; Indexable Drills; Simulation; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Drilling is widely used in manufacturing of products which need holes, for example for fluid channels, screws or pins. Depending on application, workpiece material, cutting parameters and economic considerations, different types of drills are employed. Indexable insert drills are types of drills which facilitate inserts to make holes. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Regenerative Chatter Vibration in Indexable Drills : Modeling and Simulation

    Författare :Amir Parsian; Tomas Beno; Mahdi Eynian; Martin Magnevall; Erhan Budak; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Sound; Vibrations; Drill; Indexable; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : An indexable insert drill is a drill which uses cutting inserts to make holes. Undesirable sound generated by this type of drill has always been considered as a problem in workshops. The focus of this thesis is to investigate the mechanism behind these vibrations, to model it and to provide guidelines for reducing the sound in future drill designs. LÄS MER
