6. Mechanical Properties of Gamma Titanium Aluminides
Sammanfattning : In recent years intermetallic compounds have attracted a great deal of attention as structural materials. Among the intermetallics, gamma titanium aluminides (.gamma.-TiAl) are considered to be closest to application. LÄS MER
7. Modelling of Forming and Welding in Alloy 718
Sammanfattning : The reduction of fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions are currently a key factor for the aviation industry due to major concerns about climate change and more restrictive environmental laws. One way to reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions is by significantly decreasing the vehicle’s weight while increasing engine's efficiency. LÄS MER
8. On cobalt-chrome frameworks in implant dentistry
Sammanfattning : Background: Cobalt-chrome (CoCr) alloys have been used in dentistry in decades but very little is known about their behavior and biological impact as framework materials in implant dentistry. Furthermore, few studies have evaluated and compared the clinical and radiological results of abutment and abutment-free implant treatment concepts. LÄS MER
9. Effect of boron and hydrogen on microstructure and mechanical properties of cast Ti-6Al-4V
Sammanfattning : Titanium and its alloys are widely used in applications ranging from aeroengines and offshore equipment to biomedical implants and sporting goods, owing to their high ratio of strength to density, excellent corrosion resistance, and biomedical compatibility. Among the titanium alloys used in aerospace, Ti-6Al-4V (an α+β alloy) is the most widely used, in applications in which the temperature may reach 350°C, at which point it retains good fatigue and fracture properties as well as moderate tensile strength and ductility. 10. Cryogenic Machining of Ti-6Al-4V
Sammanfattning : The use of cryogenic coolants such as liquid nitrogen or liquid carbon dioxide has emerged as a sustainable alternative to conventional cutting fluids during machining operations, with the potential to increase tool life, leading to productivity gains, as well as to improve the surface integrity of the machined components. In addition, the machined surfaces are left residue-free after the process and there are no used cutting fluids to dispose of. LÄS MER
