  1. 1. Tissue Perfusion and Oxygenation Evaluated by Measurements of Tissue Gases and pH. An Experiemental Study

    Detta är en avhandling från Åke Mellström, Dept of Anaesthesiology, Malmö Univesity Hospital, S-205 02 Malmö, Sweden

    Författare :Åke Mellström; [2002]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; intensive care; Anestesiologi; intensivvård; Anaesthesiology; Tissue pH; Tissue PCO2; Oxygen utilization; Tissue PO2;

    Sammanfattning : Optimum peripheral perfusion, oxygenation and oxygen utilization is a prerequisite for normal wound healing, resistance to infection and cardiac function. The purpose of this study was to evaluate peripheral oxygen utilization by measurements of subcutaneous tissue gases and pH (PscO2, PscCO2 and pHsc) in comparison to established techniques for measurements of periph-eral tissue oxygenation and oxygen utilization in experimental animal models with hyperoxia-hypoxia, acidosis-alkalosis and haemorrhage-resuscitation. 2. 2. Precision medicine and targeted therapy Turning the tables on cancer

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Anja Mortensen; Marika Nestor; Gregory Adams; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; p53 cancers; PM2; radiosensitization; radio-immunotherapy; MDM2 X inhibition; combination therapy; targeted radionuclide therapy; CD44v6; Biomedical Radiation Science; Biomedicinsk strålningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : An extended understanding of the molecular characteristics of cancer has led to a revolution within the field of precision medicine. This thesis explores the utilization of two targets for precision medicine, namely, CD44v6 and murine double-minute 2 and X (MDM2/X). LÄS MER

  3. 3. Laser doppler tissue flowmetry : fiberoptic methods in microvascular research

    Detta är en avhandling från Vimmerby : VTT Grafiska

    Författare :Göran Salerud; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [1986]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) constitutes a method for measuring the flux of blood cells in the microcirculatory bed. Photons are scattered in the moving blood cells, where they undergo a frequency shift according to the Doppler principle. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Fatty acid amide hydrolase - A target for anti-inflammatory therapies?

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Farmakologi och klinisk neurovetenskap

    Författare :Sandra Holt; Umeå universitet.; [2005]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacology; FAAH; anandamide; endocannabinoid; pH; inflammation; NSAID; Farmakologi; MEDICINE Physiology and pharmacology Pharmacological research; MEDICIN Fysiologi och farmakologi Farmakologisk forskning; medicinsk farmakologi; Medical Pharmacology;

    Sammanfattning : Anti-inflammatory drugs are a widely used class of therapeutic agents, but the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) is hampered by their gastrointestinal side-effects. Recent reports that cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors may cause cardiovascular events underline the importance of identifying new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of inflammation. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Vacuum Impregnation of Spinach Tissue: Metabolic Consequences and their Potential Industrial Applications

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Food Technology, Lund University

    Författare :Noor Liyana Yusof; [2017-06-14]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vacuum impregnation; Metabolic consequences; Spinach : metabolism; Modified atmosphere; Minimal processing; Nitrate reduction; Vegetables; Plant tissue;

    Sammanfattning : Vacuum impregnation (VI) is a unit operation that allows the introduction of solutions into the porous structure of plant tissues. The plant tissue is immersed in the solution of interest and is then subjected to partial vacuum, causing the removal of air from the tissue. LÄS MER
