1. Transformation phenomena in a super duplex stainless steel
Sammanfattning : Duplex stainless steels consist of about equal fractions offerrite and austenite and are attractive due to their highcorrosion resistance against pitting corrosion and stresscorrosion cracking. The pitting corrosion resistance can bedescribed by the PREN value which is defined asPREN=%Cr+3.3*%Mo+16*%N. LÄS MER
2. Black liquor gasification : experimental stability studies of smelt components and refractory lining
Sammanfattning : Black liquors are presently combusted in recovery boilers where the inorganic cooking chemicals are recovered and the energy in the organic material is converted to steam and electricity. A new technology, developed by Chemrec AB, is black liquor gasification (BLG). LÄS MER
3. Structure and Phase Stability of CaC2 Polymorphs, Li2C2 and Lithium Intercalated Graphite : A Revisit with High Pressure Experiments and Metal Hydride–Graphite Reactions
Sammanfattning : Alkali (A) and alkaline earth (AE) metals can form carbides and intercalated graphites with carbon. The carbides mostly represent acetylides which are salt-like compounds composed of C22− dumbbell anions and metal cations. Both the acetylide carbides and intercalated graphites are technologically important. LÄS MER
4. Thermodynamic Study of Co-Cr and C-Co-Cr Systems
Sammanfattning : An experimental investigation of the binary system Co-Cr and the ternary system C-Co-Cr has been carried out in the present thesis. The experimental strategy adopted for the binary system was to measure the thermodynamic activities of Cr, the molar heat capacity as function of time, the phase transformation temperatures with corresponding enthalpies, the Curie transition temperature as well as melting temperatures with corresponding enthalpies. 5. Modelling phase separation in Fe-Cr alloys : A continuum approach
Sammanfattning : The formation of Cr-rich and Fe-rich domains upon ageing of an initially homogeneous Fe-Cr alloy at elevated temperatures (300-600 ºC) is commonly referred to as phase separation. The behaviour originates from a miscibility gap in the Fe-Cr phase diagram. LÄS MER
