16. Trombolys och biokemiska markörer : i den prehospitala fasen av akuta koronara syndrom
Sammanfattning : Efficacy of thrombolytic therapy among patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction is time dependent. The earlier treatment can be started the more powerful are the effects on reducing infarct size, preservation of ventricular function and reducing long and short-term mortality. LÄS MER
17. Studies of myocardial ischaemia followed by reperfusion : new experimental models and their application
Sammanfattning : Despite great efforts to reduce morbidity and mortality in ischaemic heart disease, this is still the most common cause of death in the industrialised countries. To improve the management of such patients, further knowledge is needed of the pathophysiology of ischaemic heart disease. LÄS MER
18. Long-term aspects of stroke : survival, health-related quality of life and costs
Sammanfattning : Stroke, a disease that affects millions of people globally every year, is an emergency situation requiring fast and immediate action in hospital. Acute stroke treatments have rapidly improved and been developed over the recent decades and stroke mortality is decreasing. LÄS MER
19. Mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this doctoral thesis was to study the outcome and safety of mechanical thrombectomy, which is an endovascular technique for treating moderate to severe acute ischemic stroke caused by a large cerebral artery occlusion. The technique has been developed over the last two decades. LÄS MER
20. Popliteal Artery Aneurysm : Epidemiology, Surgical Management and Outcome
Sammanfattning : Even if popliteal artery aneurysm (PAA) is the most common peripheral aneurysm, no single surgeon or institution has enough patients to study this disease with appropriate scientific methods, and no population-based investigation exists. PAA epidemiology, treatment, management, and outcome were studied in a population-based study of 571 patients (717 legs) primarily operated on for PAAs and 100 episodes of preoperative thrombolysis in Sweden between 1987 and 2002.
