1. The Analysis of Duration and Panel Data in Economics
Sammanfattning : This thesis is divided into two distinct parts. The first part contains three chapters dealing with the analysis of duration data from an econometric perspective and with application to trade durations. LÄS MER
2. Mathematical Multi-Objective Optimization of the Tactical Allocation of Machining Resources in Functional Workshops
Sammanfattning : In the aerospace industry, efficient management of machining capacity is crucial to meet the required service levels to customers and to maintain control of the tied-up working capital. We introduce new multi-item , multi-level capacitated resource allocation models with a medium--to--long--term planning horizon. LÄS MER
3. Mathematical Optimization of the Tactical Allocation of Machining Resources in Aerospace Industry
Sammanfattning : In the aerospace industry, efficient management of machining capacity is crucial to meet the required service levels to customers (which includes, measures of quality and production lead-times) and to maintain control of the tied-up working capital. We introduce a new multi-item , multi-level capacitated planning model with a medium-to-long term planning horizon. LÄS MER
4. Spectroscopic studies of InGaAs/GaAs/A1GaAs quantum dots and wires
Sammanfattning : It is demonstrated that the photoluminescence (PL) spectra of single selfassembled lnAs/GaAs quantum dots (QDs) are very sensitive to excitation energy and crystal temperature, which is explained in terms of modulation of the effective diffusivity of the photogenerated carriers affecting the capture probability into theQD. This effect results in a population of the QD with excess electrons, and can be used as a simple tool to create and study charged exciton complexes. LÄS MER
5. Nonlinear materials for optical power limiting : characterization and modelling
Sammanfattning : High power laser pulses can be a threat to optical sensors, including the human eye. Traditionally this threat has been alleviated by colour filters that block radiation in chosen wavelength ranges. LÄS MER
