1. Capabilities for frequent innovation : Managing the early project phases in the pharmaceutical R&D process
Sammanfattning : Despite their recognized significance for project success and innovation, the management of the early project phases is still an under-researched area in project management. For organizations to secure a continuous stream of innovation, the utilization of capabilities is crucial for managing the early phases of R&D projects. LÄS MER
2. Hyperconjugation in Group 14 Organic Compounds : Design and Property Investigations
Sammanfattning : Nowadays π-conjugated molecules are widely used as materials for devices in organic and molecular electronics. This is due to the ability of such molecules to conduct electricity. However, π-conjugation leads to molecular rigidness and associated lower solubility, which limits possible applications. LÄS MER
3. Lowcoordinated Silicon and Hypercoordinated Carbon : Structure and Stability of Silicon Analogs of Alkenes and Carbon Analogs of Silicates
Sammanfattning : Quantum chemical studies on lowcoordinated group 14-16 compounds have been performed. This thesis focuses particularly on silenes influenced by reverse Siδ-=Cδ+ bond polarization. Hypercoordinated carbon compounds are also studied. LÄS MER
4. Structure and morphology control of organic semiconductors for functional optoelectronic applications
Sammanfattning : The functionality and application of organic semiconductors are largely dependent on their constituent structure and morphology. This thesis presents a number of functional and novel approaches for the control and tuning of structural and morphological features of a variety of organic semiconductor materials, and also demonstrates that these approaches can be utilized for improved device operation of field-effect transistors, organic solar cells and light-emitting electrochemical cells.
