  1. 21. Off-gassing from thermally treated lignocellulosic biomass

    Författare :Eleonora Borén; Markus Broström; Sylvia H. Larsson; Peter Björklund; Lorenz Gerber; Henrik Antti; Capucine Dupont; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Torrefaction; steam explosion; enclosed storage; CO; CO2; O2 depletion; VOCs; Tenax-TA; SPME; process settings; storage temperature; storage time;

    Sammanfattning : Off-gassing of hazardous compounds is, together with self-heating and dust explosions, the main safety hazards within large-scale biomass storage and handling. Formation of CO, CO2, and VOCs with concurrent O2 depletion can occur to hazardous levels in enclosed stored forest products. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Liquid metal microscale deposition for soft and stretchable skin-like electronics : Providing a soft and gentle contact to living beings

    Författare :Bei Wang; Klas Hjort; Zhigang Wu; Magnus Berggren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; laser patterning; sacrificial mask; liquid metal; strain sensor; skin movement; masking; shrink film; 3D conformal masking; liquid metal particles; soft electronics; stretchable electronics; compliant electronics; skin-like electronics; epidermal electronics; micro-heater; particle sintering; enteroendocrine cells; localized ectopic expression; wettability; flexography printing; conformal transfer printing; hydro printing; plant physiology; drosophila;

    Sammanfattning : Skin-like electronics could provide a soft and gentle contact with living beings for perceiving and delivering the information of pressure, strain, temperature with higher spatial resolution and sensitivity than our skin, without disturbing the user. Gallium-based liquid metal (LM) is an excellent material for soft and stretchable skin-like devices, since it has high electrical and thermal conductivity, flowability, and self-healable capability. 5. 25. Material Solutions for Mitigating High Temperature Corrosion in Biomass- and Waste-fired Boilers - Utilizing Novel FeCrAl Alloys and HVAF-sprayed Ni-based Coatings

    Författare :Johan Eklund; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Waste; HVAF; High temperature corrosion; Biomass; FeCrAl alloys; Ni-based coatings; Silicon;

    Sammanfattning : Combustion of biomass and waste for heat and electricity production is a promising alternative to fossil fuels and is thereby an important step towards a more sustainable future. However, due to substantial amounts of alkali- and chlorine-containing species as well as moisture in biomass and waste, the combustion of these results in a highly corrosive environment which accelerates the degradation of steel components in the boiler, drastically increasing the maintenance costs.
