Sammanfattning : The dissertation addresses the problem if Johann Gottfried Herder had a method when he composed his works. The overwhelming majority of scholars says no and describes him as a restless author who reworks manuscripts; digressing and repeating himself; leaning on others rather than writing a monographic work on his own – someone who does not write complete and structured works, and therefore is seen as a precursor in history rather than occupying a place in it. Sammanfattning : The purpose of this dissertation is to illuminate the relationship between the book artist Akke Kumlien (1884-1949) and various ideas about the design of books and printed letters, and to describe the evolution of Kumlien’s artistic identity and professional role. The study is based partly on primary and secondary sources and, to a greater extent, on books as objects, and in particular books published by Norstedts Förlag roughly between 1915 and 1950. LÄS MER
