1. Efficient Temporal Reasoning with Uncertainty
Sammanfattning : Automated Planning is an active area within Artificial Intelligence. With the help of computers we can quickly find good plans in complicated problem domains, such as planning for search and rescue after a natural disaster. When planning in realistic domains the exact duration of an action generally cannot be predicted in advance. LÄS MER
2. Peakflow response of stream networks : implications of physical descriptions of streams and temporal change
Sammanfattning : Through distributed stream network routing, it has quantitatively been shown that the relationship between flow travel time and discharge varies strongly nonlinearly with stream stage and with catchment-specific properties.Physically derived distributions of water travel times through a stream network were successfully used to parameterise the streamflow response function of a compartmental hydrological model. 3. Exploring patterns of empirical networks
Sammanfattning : We are constantly struggling to understand how nature works, trying to identify recurrent events and looking for analogies and relations between objects or individuals. Knowing patterns of behavior is powerful and fundamental for survival of any species. LÄS MER
4. Tightly knit : spreading processes in empirical temporal networks
Sammanfattning : We live in a tightly knit world. Our emotions, desires, perceptions and decisions are interlinked in our interactions with others. We are constantly influencing our surroundings and being influenced by others. In this thesis, we unfold some aspects of social and economical interactions by studying empirical datasets. LÄS MER
5. Conceptualising Solutions in Business Networks: The Case of Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
Sammanfattning : This thesis problematises and conceptualises the phenomenon of solutions in business networks based on processual approaches to solutions and the Industrial Network Approach to business markets. In particular, the thesis focuses on the interorganisational and interactive aspects involved in solutions embedded in business networks. LÄS MER
