  1. 1. Mechanical Pulp-Based Nanocellulose : Processing and applications relating to paper and paperboard, composite films, and foams

    Författare :Sinke Henshaw Osong; Per Engstrand; Sven Norgren; Mark Martinez; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; mechanical pulp; thermo-mechanical pulp; chemi-thermomechanical pulp; fractionation; fines; homogenisation; nanocellulose; nano-ligno-cellulose; microfibrillated cellulose; nanofibrillated cellulose; paper; strength properties; crill; TEMPO; nanographite NG ; composite films;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with processing of nanocellulose originating from pulps, with focus on mechanical pulp fibres and fines fractions. The nanocellulose materials produced within this research project were tested for different purposes ranging from strength additives in paper and paperboard products, via composite films to foam materials. 2. 2. Modeling Music : Studies of Music Transcription, Music Perception and Music Production

    Författare :Anders Elowsson; Anders Friberg; Pawel Herman; Anders Askenfelt; Gerhard Widmer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Music Information Retrieval; MIR; Music; Music Transcription; Music Perception; Music Production; Tempo Estimation; Beat Tracking; Polyphonic Pitch Tracking; Polyphonic Transcription; Music Speed; Music Dynamics; Long-time average spectrum; LTAS; Algorithmic Composition; Deep Layered Learning; Convolutional Neural Networks; Rhythm Tracking; Ensemble Learning; Perceptual Features; Representation Learning;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents ten studies focusing on three important subfields of music information retrieval (MIR): music transcription (Part A), music perception (Part B), and music production (Part C).In Part A, systems capable of transcribing rhythm and polyphonic pitch are described. 3. 3. Noise Convolution Models: Fluids in Stochastic Motion, Non-Gaussian Tempo-Spatial Fields, and a Notion of Tilting

    Författare :Jörg Wegener; Matematisk statistik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; generalized Laplace; shallow water equations; asymmetry; noise convolution models; tempo-spatial fields; non-Gaussian model;

    Sammanfattning : The primary topic of this thesis is a class of tempo-spatial models which are rather flexible in a distributional sense. They prove quite successful in modeling (temporal) dependence structures and go beyond the limitation of Gaussian models, thus allowing for heavy tails and skewness. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Interactive computer-aided expressive music performance : Analysis, control, modification and synthesis

    Författare :Marco Fabiani; Anders Friberg; Roberto Bresin; Petri Toiviainen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Acoustics; Akustik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the design and implementation process of two applications (PerMORFer and MoodifierLive) for the interactive manipulation of music performance. Such applications aim at closing the gap between the musicians, who play the music, and the listeners, who passively listen to it. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Apartment price determinants : A comparison between Sweden and Germany

    Författare :Sviatlana Anop; Hans Lind; Kerstin Annadotter; Bo Söderberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Apartment price determinants; house price determinants; valuation for mortgage purposes; bank lending policies; Nationalekonomi; Economics; Fastigheter och byggande; Real Estate and Construction Management;

    Sammanfattning : Similar development of economic fundamentals in Germany over the last two decades did not lead to the same dramatic house price increases as it is in Sweden. What can explain this house price stability over a long period? This thesis attempts to find the answer this question. LÄS MER
