  1. 1. Wear mechanisms in sheet metal forming : Effects of tool microstructure, adhesion and temperature

    Författare :Anders Gåård; Pavel Krakhmalev; Jens Bergström; Ulf Olofsson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Galling; sheet metal forming; wear; friction; adhesion; temperature; Materialteknik; Materials Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The general trend in the car body manufacturing industry is towards low-series production and reduction of press lubricants and car weight. The limited use of lubricants, in combination with the introduction of high and ultrahigh-strength sheet materials, continuously increases the demands on the forming tools. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The effects of temperature on avian physiology, behavior and development

    Författare :Andreas Nord; Evolutionär ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; clutch size; Cyanistes caeruleus; ecological immunology; energy expenditure; fever; Ficedula hypoleuca; heterothermy; hypothermia; incubation; life history; metabolic rate; Parus major; RMR; Taeniopygia guttata; temperature; winter;

    Sammanfattning : Temperature is a property of profound matter in all aspects of animal life, affecting both individual energy budgets and the environments in which animals reside. Thus, a proper understanding of the effects of temperature variation is instrumental in understanding not only animal form and function, but also the structure and dynamics of wild populations. 3. 3. The human diving response : effects of temperature and training

    Författare :Erika Schagatay; Lunds universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Djurfysiologi; pig; human; training; breath-holding time; breaking point; cold-receptors; arterial blood; vasoconstriction; bradycardia; diving reflex; diving response; Breath-hold diving; Animal physiology; simulated diving; Organism biology; Organismbiologi; Sports; Idrott; Physiology; Fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim was to elucidate the cardiovascular response associated with breath-hold diving, especially the effects of temperature in its elicitation and the effects of different types of training on the human diving response (DR) and breath-holding time (BHT), and to evaluate the human DR in a mammalian perspective. A model for simulated diving by apnea and facial immersion in cold water was developed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. As-cast AZ91D magnesium alloy properties : Effects of microstructure and temperature

    Författare :Hoda Dini; Anders E.W. Jarfors; Nils-Eric Andersson; Jönköping University; []

    Sammanfattning : Today, there is an essential need for lightweight, energy-efficient, environmentally benign engineering systems, and this is the driving force behind the development of a wide range of structural and functional materials for energy generation, energy storage, propulsion, and transportation. These challenges have motivated the use of magnesium alloys for lightweight structural systems. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Vegetation changes on Swedish mires : Effects of raised temperature and increased nitrogen and sulphur influx

    Författare :Urban Gunnarsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; Acidification; growth; long-term studies; mires; nitrogen; species richness; Sphagnum; succession; sulphur; temperature; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; ekologisk botanik; Ecological Botany;

    Sammanfattning : Since the start of the industrialisation, the deposition of nitrogen and sulphur and the atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases have increased. The main objectives of this study were to find how these changes in climate and deposition can change the vegetation of mire ecosystems and the growth of Sphagnumspecies. LÄS MER
