  1. 1. Constitutive models of magneto-sensitive rubber under a continuum mechanics basis and the application in vibration isolation

    Författare :Bochao Wang; Leif Kari; Ines Lopez Arteaga; Vincent Coveney; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Magneto-sensitive rubber; magnetic dependency; frequency dependency; amplitude dependency; temperature dependency; vibration isolation; Engineering Mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Due to its durability, stretchability, relatively low stiffness and high damping, rubber is widely used in engineering anti-vibration fields. However, a major deficiency is that once installed, the mechanical properties of traditional rubber-based devices are fixed where its adaptability to various loading conditions is poor. LÄS MER

  2. 2. SAR remote sensing of snow covered sea ice in brackish water : investigations from the Baltic sea

    Författare :Maria Lundin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; brackish water; sea ice; temperature; SAR; Baltic sea; temperature dependency; remote sensing; snow;

  3. 3. On the impact of temperature perturbations on the creep of sensitive clay

    Författare :Yanling Li; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thermal cycles; sensitive clays; oedometer tests; temperature; natural bonding; apparent preconsolidation pressure; multi-physics modelling; geothermal; static thermal loading;

    Sammanfattning : Temperature affects the soil response, but is not fully understood and quantified and thus often ignored. The temperature fluctuations resulting from energy foundations and construction activities, such as excavations and soil stabilization, however, may lead to changes in the hydromechanical response of the clay. 4. 4. Factors Affecting Rates of Change in Soil Bacterial Communities

    Författare :Marie Pettersson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; virology; mycology; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi; Plant ecology; Växtekologi; bacteriology; Microbiology; DGGE; PLFA; TdR-incorporation; function; structure; tolerance; adaptation; pH; soil bacterial community; temperature;

    Sammanfattning : The soil bacterial community is under the constant influence of its environment. Changing any of the factors affecting the bacterial community will induce a selection pressure which, with time, will change the community. In this work the effect of changing the temperature or pH on the soil bacterial community was studied. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Partial Discharge Signatures of Defects in Insulation Systems Consisting of Oil and Oil-impregnated Paper

    Författare :Mohamad Ghaffarian Niasar; Hans Edin; Peter Werelius; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; partial discharge; transformer; oil; ageing; temperature; PD classification;

    Sammanfattning : Partial discharge measurement is a common method for monitoring and diagnostics of power transformers, and can detect insulation malfunctions before they lead to failure. Different parameters extracted from the measured PD activity can be correlated to the PD source, and as a result it is possible to identify the PD source by analyzing the PD activity. LÄS MER
