21. Modeling and Simulation of Dial-a-Ride and Integrated Public Transport Services
Sammanfattning : Traditional public transport systems are most often insufficient to provide a good transport service to everyone. Especially, it is not always possible for elderly and disabled persons to use the regular system consisting of timetabled services operating along fixed routes. LÄS MER
22. Growth and characterisation of InGaAs-based quantum dots-in-a-well infrared photodetectors
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents results from the development of quantum dot (QD) based infrared photodetectors (IPs). The studies include epitaxial growth of QDs, investigations of the structural, optical and electronic properties of QD-based material as well as characterisation of the resulting components. LÄS MER
23. A Toolbox for Sensor Data Fusion in Industrial Automation
Sammanfattning : The work is focused on measurement for support in industrial automation and especially around industrial robots. The main thread in the work is the combination (fusion) of information from different sensors. LÄS MER
24. Minding the Body : Interacting socially through embodied action
Sammanfattning : This dissertation clarifies the role and relevance of the body in social interaction and cognition from an embodied cognitive science perspective. Theories of embodied cognition have during the past two decades offered a radical shift in explanations of the human mind, from traditional computationalism which considers cognition in terms of internal symbolic representations and computational processes, to emphasizing the way cognition is shaped by the body and its sensorimotor interaction with the surrounding social and material world. 25. Theoretical prediction of properties of atomistic systems : Density functional theory and machine learning
Sammanfattning : The prediction of ground state properties of atomistic systems is of vital importance in technological advances as well as in the physical sciences. Fundamentally, these predictions are based on a quantum-mechanical description of many-electron systems. LÄS MER
