  1. 1. Contributions to the Use of Statistical Methods for Improving Continuous Production

    Författare :Francesca Capaci; Erik Vanhatalo; Bjarne Bergquist; Murat Kulahci; Johan Carlson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process industry; Continuous process; Statistical process control; Design of experiments; Process improvements; Simulation tool; Engineering process control; Kvalitetsteknik; Quality Technology Management;

    Sammanfattning : Complexity of production processes, high computing capabilities, and massive datasets characterize today’s manufacturing environments, such as those of continuous andbatch production industries. Continuous production has spread gradually acrossdifferent industries, covering a significant part of today’s production. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Landscapes of Technology Transfer : Swedish Ironmakers in India 1860–1864

    Författare :Jan Af Geijerstam; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; History of technology; industrial heritage studies; industrial archaeology; technology transfer; diffusion; technological systems; landscapes of technology; iron and steel; charcoal iron; direct and indirect ironmaking; bloomeries; 19th century; indu; Historiska studier av teknik; vetenskap och miljö; History of Science; Technology and Environment;

    Sammanfattning : In the early 1860s three Swedes, Nils Wilhelm Mitander,Julius Ramsay and Gustaf Wittenström, were engaged by theBritish to build and run charcoal-based ironworks in India.These works, the Burwai Iron Works of the British Government inthe case of Mitander and the privately owned Kumaon Iron Worksin the case of Ramsay and Wittenström, were both to bebased on the most modern European technology. 3. 3. Industrial Digital Fabrication Using Inkjet Technology

    Författare :Ingo Reinhold; Carl-Mikael Zetterling; Matti Mäntysalo; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; inkjet printing; droplet formation; digital fabrication; sintering; nanoparticles; printed electronics; Industrial Information and Control Systems; Industriella informations- och styrsystem; Media Technology; Medieteknik; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Sammanfattning : The use of acoustic waves initiated by the deformation of a microchannel is one method for generating monodisperse, micrometer-sized droplets from small orifices and is employed in piezo-electric inkjet printheads. These printheads are used in both graphical printing and digital fabrication, where functionalities, such as optical, biological, electrical or mechanical, are being produced locally. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Good to use! : Use quality of multi-user applications in the home

    Författare :Mattias Arvola; Kjell Ohlsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Software; computer interaction; laidback interaction; face management; ante-use; quality values; quality objectives; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Traditional models of usability are not sufficient for software in the home, since they are built with office software in mind. Previous research suggest that social issues among other things, separate software in homes from software in offices. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Development of high-Tc SQUID magnetometers for on-scalp MEG

    Författare :Minshu Xie; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nanowire junctions; on-scalp MEG; Bicrystal grain boundary; magnetoencephalography; YBCO; magnetometers; high-Tc SQUIDs;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the development of high critical temperature superconducting quantum interference device (high-Tc SQUID) magnetometers based on bicrystal grain boundary and nanowire junctions for the potential use in on-scalp magnetoencephalography (MEG), which is a new generation MEG technique with reduced sensor-to-subject standoff distances.MEG is a method of mapping neural dynamics in the human brain by recording the magnetic fields produced by neural currents.
