  1. 1. Development of a 2D Temperature Measurement Technique for Combustion Diagnostics using 2-Line Atomic Fluorescence

    Författare :Johan Engström; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser technology; Elektronik och elektroteknik; Electronics and Electrical technology; PLIF; LIF; temperature measurements; TLAF; Laser diagnostic; combustion; Laserteknik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis is concerned with the development and application of a novel planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) technique for temperature measurements in a variety of combusting flows. Accurate measurement of temperature is an essential task in combustion diagnostics, since temperature is one of the most fundamental quantities for the characterization of combustion processes. 2. 2. Optical Diagnostics for Quantitative Potassium Chemistry in Biomass Thermochemical Conversion Processes

    Författare :Wubin Weng; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Optical diagnostics; Quantitative measurement; TDLAS; Sulfation; Biomass; UV absorption spectroscopy; TLAF; Potassium chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Biomass is an essential sustainable and carbon-neutral energy source. Through thermochemical conversion processes, such as combustion and gasification, biomass can generally be used in boilers to provide heat and/or power. Biomass fuels contain varying amounts of potassium, chlorine and sulfur. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Two-Line Atomic Fluorescence for Thermometry in Reactive Flows

    Författare :Jesper Borggren; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :Two-line atomic fluorescence; thermometry; Laser spectroscopy; Diode laser; Fysicumarkivet A:2018:Borggren;

    Sammanfattning : Advances in the field of laser-based combustion diagnostics over the past decades have allowed for detailed characterisation, modelling and increased understanding of the complex combustion process. However; many combustion phenomena are still unexplained and there is a continued need for development and application of diagnostic tools to further the understanding of the combustion process. 4. 4. Development of Multi-Dimensional Laser Techniques for In-situ Combustion Diagnostics

    Författare :Jenny Nygren; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laser Diagnsotics; Visualisation; Laser technology; Laserteknik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; Combustion; Temperature; Fysicumarkivet A:2003:Nygren;

    Sammanfattning : Multi-dimensional, laser-based measurements of quantities important for obtaining a better understanding of combustion processes, particularly of temperature and of species distributions, were performed using laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). The main purpose of the temperature experiments was to investigate the potential of employing a two-line atomic fluorescence technique (TLAF), using indium as the tracer species, in sooting environments such as in diesel engines.
