  1. 6. Fabrication and Characterization of Composite TiO2/Carbon Nanofilms with Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity

    Författare :Raja Sellappan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TiO2; carbon; photoluminescence; photodegradation; recombination.; Photocatalysis;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is dedicated to fabrication and characterization of an efficient thin film photocatalyst for environmental cleaning and solar fuel applications. Because of its simplicity and reproducible fabrication, the chosen combination of nanometer thin titania and carbon films serves also as a model system for a wider class of photoactive materials. 2. 7. Sol-gel Synthesis and Photocatalytic Characterization of Immobilized TiO2 Films

    Författare :Haidong Liao; Mats Jonsson; David Stenman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Photocatalysis; Hydroxyl radical; TiO2 film; Sol-gel; Chemistry; Kemi; Catalysis; Katalys;

    Sammanfattning :    Contamination of surface and ground water from industrial wastes and anthropogenic activities represents one of the greatest challenges to the sustainable development of human society. Heterogeneous photocatalysis, a kind of advanced oxidation process characterized by the production of highly oxidative hydroxyl radicals, is a relatively novel subject with tremendous potential in water treatment applications. 3. 8. CVD and ALD in the Bi-Ti-O system

    Författare :Mikael Schuisky; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Halide-CVD; ALD; Bismuth titanate; Bi4Ti3O12; Titanium oxide; TiO2; Bismuthoxide; Bi2O2.33; Epitaxy; QCM.; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Bismuth titanate Bi4Ti3O12, is one of the bismuth based layered ferroelectric materials that is a candidate for replacing the lead based ferroelectric materials in for instance non-volatile ferroelectric random access memories (FRAM). This is due to the fact that the bismuth based ferroelectrics consists of pseudo perovskite units sandwiched in between bismuth oxide layers, which gives them a better fatigue nature. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Photocatalysis for Indoor Air Cleaning : In situ FTIR and DFT Study of Acetaldehyde Photo-Oxidation on TiO2 and Sulfate-Modified TiO2

    Författare :Bozhidar Stefanov; Lars Österlund; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TiO2; acetaldehyde; crotonaldehyde; dimer; adsorption; DFT; FTIR; photocatalysis; micro-kinetic modeling; acid–base properties; surface functionalization; Solid State Physics; Fasta tillståndets fysik; Materialvetenskap; Materials Science;

    Sammanfattning : Acetaldehyde is among the group of VOC’s causing the so-called "sick building" syndrome. WHO has estimated that this problem, related to the indoor air-quality, affects one third of all buildings worldwide. TiO2 is an attractive material for the photocatalytic removal of VOC’s in the indoor environment. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Photoelectron spectroscopy is an experimental method to study the electronic structure in matter. In this thesis, a combination of soft and hard X-ray based photoelectron spectroscopy has been used to obtain atomic level understanding of electronic structures and energy level alignments in mesoscopic solar cells.
