  1. 6. Image Analysis in Support of Computer-Assisted Cervical Cancer Screening

    Författare :Patrik Malm; Ewert Bengtsson; Calum MacAulay; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Image analysis; cervical cancer; pap-smear; synthetic images; screening; image processing; cytometry; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : Cervical cancer is a disease that annually claims the lives of over a quarter of a million women. A substantial number of these deaths could be prevented if population wide cancer screening, based on the Papanicolaou test, were globally available. The Papanicolaou test involves a visual review of cellular material obtained from the uterine cervix. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Computerized Cell and Tissue Analysis

    Författare :Azadeh Fakhrzadeh; Gunilla Borgefors; Cris Luengo Hendriks; Lena Holm; Nasir Rajpoot; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Image processing; Cell; Tissue; Segmentation; Classification; Histology; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : The latest advances in digital cameras combined with powerful computer software enable us to store high-quality microscopy images of specimen. Studying hundreds of images manually is very time consuming and has the problem of human subjectivity and inconsistency. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Image Reconstruction and Optical Flow Estimation on Image Sequences with Differently Exposed Frames

    Författare :Tomas Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : The main objective for digital image- and video camera systems is to reproduce a real-world scene in such a way that a high visual quality is obtained. A crucial aspect in this regard is, naturally, the quality of the hardware components of the camera device. There are, however, always some undesired limitations imposed by the sensor of the camera. 4. 9. Interactive 3D Image Analysis for Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery Planning and Orthopedic Applications

    Författare :Johan Nysjö; Ingela Nyström; Filip Malmberg; Ida-Maria Sintorn; Jayaram K. Udupa; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; medical image analysis; interactive segmentation; volume rendering; computed tomography; Computerized Image Processing; Datoriserad bildbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : Modern medical imaging devices are able to generate highly detailed three-dimensional (3D) images of the skeleton. Computerized image processing and analysis methods, combined with real-time volume visualization techniques, can greatly facilitate the interpretation of such images and are increasingly used in surgical planning to aid reconstruction of the skeleton after trauma or disease. Sammanfattning : Understanding biology paves the way for discovering drugs targeting deadly diseases like cancer, and microscopy imaging is one of the most informative ways to study biology. However, analysis of large numbers of samples is often required to draw statistically verifiable conclusions. LÄS MER
