1. Microextraction for usage in environmental monitoring and modelling of nitroaromatic compounds and haloanisoles
Sammanfattning : Processes in the environment are often complex and the description and prediction of the behaviour of environmental pollutants requires sophisticated methodology including multidimensional technology. Multivariate statistical methods including principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares projection to latent structures (PLS) were used to characterise several nitroaromatic compounds according to a large number of chemical and physical properties. 2. Managing Risks in Business Critical Outsourcing : A Perspective from the Outsourcer and the Supplier
Sammanfattning : Companies are increasingly outsourcing business critical activities to suppliers of outsourcing services. As the complexity and business criticality of the outsourced activities increases, the risk of poor performance increases. LÄS MER
3. Transverse Chromatic Aberration and Vision: Quantification and Impact across the Visual Field
Sammanfattning : The eye is our window to the world. Human vision has therefore been extensively studied over the years. However, in-depth studies are often either limited to our central visual field, or, when extended to the periphery, only correct optical errors related to a narrow spectrum of light. LÄS MER
4. Enhanced Active Resonant DC Circuit Breakers for HVDC Grids
Sammanfattning : High-voltage DC (HVDC) grids are considered promising for the electricity grid expansion required to integrate renewable energy sources into the existing infrastructure. DC fault currents increase rapidly and lack a current zero crossing. LÄS MER
5. Acute lung failure induced by tricyclic antidepressants : an experimental evaluation
Sammanfattning : The tricyclic antidepressant drugs (TCA) have, over the years, been reported to be able to cause adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)/acute lung injury in connection with overdose, and are currently among the most common cause of self-poisoning. Approximately 10% of all TCA overdose patients develop ARDS, and the treatment of these patients, irrespective of the event causing ARDS, is mainly supportive. LÄS MER
